Mark Davies
Mark Davies is Co-Founder and CEO of S3, a full-service compliance and trade analytics software. He is responsible for the organization’s business strategy, the executive team, and has oversight of the company’s day-to-day operations, including client relations, sales, and business development.
A financial services executive with over 20 years experience in fintech and regtech, Mr. Davies has deep industry knowledge in trading technology, particularly trade surveillance, best execution analysis, and regulatory reporting. Recently, Davies led the industry on market structure and regulatory reporting requirements for the Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) Rule 606 under Reg NMS and is sought after for his subject matter expertise. Davies is currently leading industry efforts to understand and implement the SEC’s latest Rule 605.
Mr. Davies co-founded S3 in 2003. In 2004, S3 launched its first trading analytics product, redefining S3’s core business. Since then, under Mr. Davies guidance, S3 has improved trust in the industry through appropriate and intelligent disclosure via regulatory reporting and analytics.
Davies is an industry thought leader on market structure and regulatory requirements, particularly the SEC’s Rule 606. He is Co-Chair of the FIF Rule 606 Committee and a member of several other industry groups, including the STA Listed Options Committee, the Security Traders Association of NY, the Dallas Security Traders Association, and SIFMA. He lives in Austin, Texas with his wife and three children.
John Standerfer
A highly accomplished software executive possessing more than a decade of experience in the finance industry, John oversees the technical development of products and provides product direction for the company.
Prior to S3, John led the development of advanced web based trading tools for Charles Schwab’s Active Trader division. These tools provided web based traders with access to streaming quotes, trades, charts and news. In addition to being used by millions of traders, they were also the focus on multiple national advertising campaigns.
As an expert observer of the financial markets, John has spoken at the Federal Reserve and provided opinions for some of the world’s largest financial services firms as well as Reuters, Bloomberg, USA Today, Fox Business News and others. His opinion pieces on financial and media issues have been featured on heavily-trafficked web sites like the Huffington Post.
Rob Olkiewicz
As Chief Experience Officer, Rob is responsible for all aspects of the client experience, from the initial onboarding process to ongoing support of the platform. During his eight-year tenure with S3, Rob has played a major role in the growth of the Company’s client base and in enhancing its software architecture. He understands the importance of customizing S3’s services and is focused specifically on the client’s experience to ensure that S3 is providing the best possible tools for satisfying regulatory requirements and trade analysis needs.
Rob has over 20 years of experience in client services and information technology roles, serving in various senior-level Quality Engineering, Development, and Management positions. Prior to joining S3 in 2008, he served as Senior Quality Engineer at Dell Inc., where he managed teams to optimize and stress test Computer Telephony Integration (CTI) environments. Previously, Rob worked for MCI Inc. in multiple functional areas over a 15-year tenure and attended Briar Cliff University.
Jeremy Vest
As Chief Revenue Officer, Jeremy oversees the sales effort in all regions. He is focused on developing new and existing relationships and growing the company’s client base. Jeremy is highly visible in the financial services industry which enables him to form strategic alliances to enhance customer relationships.
Jeremy’s knowledge and understanding of S3’s product offerings, including, All in One Compliance Solutions, aligns with S3’s commitment to clients – to provide superior service and products that aid in maintaining healthy capital markets.
Jeremy previously worked for S3 as a Senior Business Analyst and Product Owner from 2006-2011, during which time he worked directly with existing and prospective clients to identify, define, and implement new software solutions. Prior, he worked for two years at The Hewlett-Packard Company, where he held the position of B2B Online Store Product Manager. Jeremy graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from the University of Texas at Austin.
Josh Barry
Josh is responsible for making sure all the different systems work together in a cohesive manner and charting the path to bring new software/features into production.
He has 15 plus years of experience designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance real-time systems handling market data and order and trade data
Before joining S3 in 2006, Josh led the team responsible for real-time account, order and trade data at Charles Schwab. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Dallas.
